Re-acclimating to this life

Growing up in the Northeast I could not wait to get away from it.

When I left after school and moved to the Southwest I never thought I would return. Of course that was 30 years ago and a lot has changed since then. When our parents, you are quite elderly had to move into an assisted living facility I knew I needed to be closer to them to help out. My children were grown and I divorced years ago so I entirely had no reason to stay in our current location anyway. I was able to move to an office closer to where our parents live and I packed up last Summer to move back home. I moved into our parents beach house so our living arrangements we are all set, but, on a personal level I had to make some extreme adjustments to re-acclimate myself to the colder climate. One of the first things I did was head out to purchase some warmer clothing because I hadn’t owned a Wintertide coat in years. I had some cash available from selling our beach house at our prior location so I made some adjustments to our parents beach house as well. I instantly replaced the old Heating, Ventilation plus A/C system, that was nearly 30 years old with a newer and more efficient 1. I had the beach house re-insulated to save cash on energy cost and added an Heating, Ventilation plus A/C component to the detached garage so I would not have to deal with a cold-cold automobile each afternoon. It is just the start of fall and already the people I was with and I have cooler afternoons so I guess I will greatly care about all of these changes once the full force of Wintertide arrives.
