When I used to be a songwriter

I felt a cooling breeze today, and it brought back many memories.

To most people, a cooling breeze is just that, a cooling breeze. But not to me, because that breeze goes several years back. I was broke, had a tiny studio the size of a bathroom, and tried to squeeze myself in the music industry. I had a vent right next to me, which was what delivered the cooling breeze. I would sit and try to write songs while enjoying the breeze. The air conditioning, I believe was a central air conditioner. Sometimes, when I would get stuck on what to write on the next part of a song, I would just sit and enjoy the cooling system. Then I would brainstorm the next idea and write away. Even though those days are long gone, I still get flashbacks occasionally. Now, after I signed a contract with a producing company, I got a much bigger studio, and I even had them have a vent next to where I would be sitting, so I could continually have peace of mind. This studio is much better than my last one, but I couldn’t help myself, and for old time’s sake, drove to my old studio. Walking inside reminded me of how tiny it really was, and it also made me thankful that I don’t have to deal with the claustrophobic feeling anymore. I stood in front of the air conditioning unit, just like old times, just to feel the breeze. I probably stood there for 15 minutes before moving on. After I finished my tour, I went to write my next hit song.
