Different classrooms and how to handle them

In the rooms without air conditioning or fans, it is harshlyhotand uncomfortable.

I toil as a paraprofessional for the local middle school. That means that I travel with a single student with special needs throughout the morning. I am there to assist this student academically and physically. Because I travel with the student from class to class, I go in and out of about eight different classrooms throughout the morning, and while I enjoy moving around, the school has entirely uneven temperature control. In some areas of the building, there is air conditioning; however other areas of the building do not have any air conditioning, but similarly, some of the rooms have fans, while others do not, as the weather is getting warmer, this makes it challenging to guess what to wear. In the rooms without air conditioning or fans, it is harshlyhotand uncomfortable. It also doesn’t help that there are about twenty middle school youngsters dripping with sweat and stinking up the location! When I am in those rooms, I would still behotin a skirt and a tank top! However, some of the classrooms that I am in have air conditioning. Because only certain rooms in the school have air conditioning, it is constantly blasting! While I enjoy the initial relief, by the end of the class period, I have goosebumps on our skin! I’ve found that the only way to make it through the morning comfortably is by wearing layers. I am constantly taking our sweater on and off throughout the morning, however it’s worth it, last week, I decided it washotenough to just wear a tank top, and I was so cold in the classrooms with air conditioning! It made it so much more difficult to get through the morning. I won’t make that mistake again.
