I never thought I would use a lawyer to sue someone for damages.
I didn’t think I was the type of person to take another person to court.
Then I had a terrible accident with another driver. My son and I were on our way home from a football game. He was sitting in the backseat with a bunch of football gear. We had some helmets, shin guards, knee pads, and cleats. I was driving with the window down, and it was raining slightly. I could see just fine, but I had my lights. Another car ran right through a stop sign and plowed into the side of my vehicle. I’m incredibly thankful that my son was sitting in the back seat instead of the passenger seat. Most of that side of the car was completely damaged. The whole car was totaled in the end. When I found out that the other driver was drinking, I decided to hire a lawyer. I see Lawyer Referral Services on television all the time, but I really wanted a lawyer that will work hard and take my case. I read through some online reviews for many of the top rated law firms in the area. I found someone on the first day and they agreed to take my case without a retainer. It’s going to take some time for the lawyer to recoup any money for my injuries, but I have some severe medical bills. My son had a concussion and I have a broken arm. I don’t know if the guy is going to face criminal charges, but I am going to have my lawyer sue for all of the damages.
