I was born in 1976, and that was the first season for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
I grew up in Tampa, FL, where the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are the local favorite team. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are part of the National Football Conference South Division. They joined the National Football League during the year of 1976. They were originally an expansion team with the Seattle Seahawks. After years in the National Football League, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have suffered through some pretty harsh losing seasons. In the first two years of their franchise history, they lost all of their games. Of course, during their franchise history, they also won a Superbowl. During the years when the Tampa Bay Buccaneers were flourishing, my dad and I used to attend every home game. We would leave our house early on Sunday morning and make the drive to Tampa Bay. We always got sausage biscuits for breakfast and a large cup of coffee. We always got hot dogs at the game. I had a frozen Coke slushie and my dad would usually have a cold beer. I will never forget all of the times that my dad and I sat in the stands and cheered for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Someday, I’m going to have a young boy of my own, and we will have lots of time to watch Sunday football games. I’m going to spend all weekend with my kids, just like my Dad with me. Right now, I rarely get a chance to watch football on Sunday, let alone drive all the way to Tampa to see my favorite team play.
