I have been living in the south for twenty years now, and up until the other day I never had any problems dealing with the elements or with the wildlife that I am surrounded by. Most people tend to think that since I rely on a very old and simple heating and cooling unit to keep me warm and safe during the majority of the year I must be worried all the time, but in fact it’s quite the opposite. Despite the age of my heating and cooling unit it has always been extremely reliable as long as I would to occasional check ups and repairs. Well, last week while I was sleeping I was woken up to a strange sound coming from the other room. At first I brushed it off and chalked it up to the wind or something, but then I realized in that moment how chilly it was in my room. Upon further inspection the sound had been coming from my heating and cooling unit. During the night a couple of racoons had decided to chew and scratch the wirings in the heating and cooling cooling unit. I have always been a decent repairman but this was so bad that I had to do something I had never done before, call the closest heating and cooling company in town and have them send out someone to help me. Despite my pride being hurt, the HVAC repairman that the company sent out was extremely kind and did all he could to get the unit back up and running. I’m not sure what I did to make those racoons decide to destroy my unit, but they sure hit me where it hurts.
