When the lease on our apartment was up, my husband and I decided to find a new place to call home.
We loved our apartment complex and wanted to remain in the community, but we wanted a different apartment that was located on the first floor.
We’d been living on the third floor for a year, but the first floor had so many more benefits. We wouldn’t have to hike all our groceries up to the third floor, and we could have a small, private yard. My husband and I were most excited about the yard! After moving in, we made great use of our new yard. We opened the sliding doors regularly to let the cool breeze in, and we often ate outside. A few weeks later, my husband and I came down with horrible sinus infections. We were running our air purifier regularly, and we weren’t in the midst of a seasonal transition, so we didn’t understand why. However, I noticed that my sinuses were worse whenever I was home! I called my dad to ask him what he thought could be causing the sinus infections to flare up so badly, especially since I had an air purifier running consistently. The first thing he asked me, was when I replaced the air purifier air filter last. I had no idea that you even needed to replace the air filter in a portable air purifier! I don’t know why this never crossed my husband or my mind! As soon as we replaced the air filter, our sinus infections slowly went away. Now, we know to replace the air filter in our air purifier from here on out!
