I’m one of those crazy ladies who participates in black friday every season.
Ever since I was a little girl, I’ve kicked off the Christmas season with a night of shopping. Typically, I venture into the cold night with my mom and sister, and we literally shop until we drop. My husband has never been interested in standing in line all night long and fighting the crowd for the best deals, but he never says a word about me going. This year though, my mom and sister were both out of town for our annual black friday trip and I was dreading going out by myself. I begged and begged my husband to come with me, but he wasn’t interested. When the black friday catalogues came out on Thanksgiving morning though, my husband suddenly perked up and showed interest in shopping that night. Thinking he may have seen a wonderful christmas present idea for myself, I asked him why he was suddenly interested in a night of shopping and long lines. He held up a flyer for the local hardware store and started telling me about the amazing deal on air filters. Apparently, they were offering a pack of air filters for half the normal price, and if you spent a certain amount of money, you’d get a gift card to the store. My husband continued to tell me how many packs of air filters we would have to buy in order to receive the gift card, but he was definitely going to do it. He replaced our air filters every 4 months, so he was genuinely excited about the deal. Apparently, all I needed to do to get my husband shopping, was to show him the hardware store advertisement!
