Getting rid of my broken furnace to get more space in the house

I have a broken furnace. For most people, having a broken furnace would be a major inconvenience. Thankfully, I have a new heating system that is working well and keeping my family warm. I changed the style of heating systems, and I definitely don’t regret it. However, when the HVAC company came to install our new HVAC system, the HVAC technicians forgot to grab our old furnace to try to recycle. When I called them about it, they told me that they wouldn’t be able to grab my furnace. I would be responsible for disposing of it. I was a bit aggravated, but since it was in the basement, I figured that I wouldn’t have to worry about it for a few weeks. Unfortunately, it has been a few years, and my furnace is still in the exact same location. But I have to get rid of my furnace soon. I have acquired a lot of stuff since that furnace stopped working, and I am going to have to get rid of my furnace if I want to make room for more stuff. Sadly, I am going to have to cut a path through my entire basement full of stuff to get to my furnace. If I would have gotten rid of the furnace first, then I wouldn’t have this problem. One thing that I am very excited about is that I might be able to scrap the furnace for a few extra dollars. I won’t get a lot of money for that furnace, but it will probably be enough for a date with my wife or a bill for my heating system.
