I don’t adore certain aspects of my personality. Like I am very picky about things. The air inside my house happens to be one of them. It smells gross. I realize that the weather outside doesn’t help much. During the summer, all the windows are shut and the house is sealed up tight. This compounds the problem because our HVAC unit simply keeps recycling the air. I know some gets exhausted but the air just always smells so dank. Cooking smells linger for days. I won’t even let my husband prepare fish inside the house. We have upgraded the air filters but that did nothing. The deodorizers are basically all the same. They cover the smell for no more than 10 minutes. The air in my house still stinks and I was beginning to run out of patience. I turned to the internet to see if I could maybe find a solution. I definitely didn’t want to try those portable air sanitizers. The hotel ionizer was an idea but again, I didn’t want to have to move something from room to room. I called the HVAC people and they suggested I get a whole house air purifier. I had not heard of one of those before. Turns out, this was exactly what I was looking for. The HVAC guy came out and attached a small box to the inside of our HVAC air handler. This thing shines a concentrated beam of UV light on all the air that is pulled in through the return. Subsequently, it is able to kill all bacteria and allergens in the air. I couldn’t believe it until I tried it. Within the first 2 hours I could tell a distinct difference. By the next day, the air was perfect!
