Why does the floor look like goo?

Back then, you were just out of luck if it was closed

I’ve had my fair share of bad Hotel experiences, but I can remember one awful one in particular. My friends and I were going out of town to see a concert. The Rolling Stones were playing in the city closest to our Tiny Village, so my friends and I drove 3 hours to see them play. It was one of the most amazing concerts that I have ever seen in all of my 45 years. The concert was amazing and there must have been ten thousand people dancing the name of the band. Since my friends and I drove a long distance to see the band play, we stayed in a hotel for the night. We didn’t have a lot of money, so we stayed in the cheapest joint we could find. I think that we paid about $20 for the night which was a real steel. My friends and I regretted paying $20 for that hotel, even though we were drunk and tired. As soon as I took off my shoes, I stepped in a pile of goof. The pile of goo was sitting under the heater. That heater wasn’t even running at the time, and the pile of goo was significant. I was going to walk up to the desk and request a room change, but the front desk was already closed for the night. Back then, you were just out of luck if it was closed. My friends and I were afraid to take off our clothes. We slept on top of the covers and we didn’t put our heads on the pillow. It was pretty gross, even for band groupie standards.
