I hate the fact that almost every mode of business that I enter in to is completely impersonal.
- It bums me out no end.
No more can you just go to the guy you know for a quick tune up plus an oil change. All cars are so complicated now that all of us just go to the dealer. I don’t even interact with anyone at the bank now except for maybe a handful of times throughout the year. Everything is done online these days. The lack of having someone you trust for a business relationship is a substantial disadvantage in my opinion. The only relationship that I can think of is the Heating, Ventilation, plus A/C contractor that I do business with. Jeez, even our own doctor doesn’t even spend more than five minutes with me when I see him. At least with the Heating, Ventilation, plus A/C dealer, we go way back and we both like each other. Back when I moved to the area, nearly 27 years ago, I sought out a fantastic Heating, Ventilation, plus A/C person to update the Heating, Ventilation, plus A/C in my new house. That old Heating, Ventilation, plus A/C on our new home was just the worst. When I bought the home, I thought I could get at least squeeze a year out of the existing Heating, Ventilation, plus A/C unit. I was so wrong, though! And then I had to scramble to find someone I could trust. And, I did! Back in those days, our Heating, Ventilation, plus A/C guy was just starting out, and he was basically a one man operation. But this guy was so professional plus passionate about Heating, Ventilation, and A/C that it made for an easy choice. Indeed, it’s been an easy option for me to maintain that business relationship all these years now.
