I’m okay with having a gas or electric fireplace

When I was applying for college, I truly didn’t expect to leave my freezing climate of my home state for a school so far down south in a locale with 80 degree Winter seasons.

For the longest amount of time, I wanted to go to this unique college here in my home state.

But, since this school prioritizes out of state students, I was basically put on a waiting list for acceptance. After finding out how much difficult it would have been simply acquiring financial assistance if I was lucky to get a spot, I stopped feeling as gloomy about the whole experience. And then when I arrived and saw the ocean for the first time in all my days, I felt sort of like I had landed in heaven. Even though my new climate was substantially warmer than my old climate, I adjusted in a fairly short period of time. I distinctly remember how I would return back to my residence for the Winter season, Spring, and Summer breaks and would easily feel climate shock when being thrust back into the very cold weather again. By the time I was graduating, I only looked for tasks that were around my undergraduate school. As ridiculous as it may sound, one of the things I miss the most about spending Winter seasons up north is the ambient quality of having a fire burning in the residence. Even if fireplaces are not used solely for heating purposes, there’s something that is taxing to explain regarding the warmth and fantastic vibe that emanates off a burning log as it glows bright orange behind a thin layer of protective glass. Happily, I was able to find an electric space heating machine that simulates the look and ambient quality of a real fireplace while circumnavigating the need to ever combust wood of any kind. Plus, my component came with a remote control and a sleep timer, which makes my life quite a bit easier.
