I really appreciate Amish culture.
Even though I am not Amish, I love their lifestyle, and I would be interested to experience their lifestyle for a time.
The Amish are also very good craftsmen, and when they build something, it is always meant to last. I usually try to purchase stuff from the Amish for this very reason, and I am sure that they make quite a profit from people like me. However, I have heard a lot of people talk about the Amish fireplaces, and I am here to dispell the myth that they are actual wooden fireplaces from the Amish. A fireplace of this sort is really a wooden frame built around gas or electric fireplace. These heating systems are very nice. Sometimes, you can even have a real fireplace that is called an Amish fireplace. However, the wooden frame built around the heating system doesn’t actually mean that the heating system was built by the Amish. In fact, a lot of the frames aren’t even Amish. This was a marketing ploy by the HVAC companies that were wanting to make a profit by using the name of people who are well-known craftsmen. Although I appreciate the fact that these HVAC companies recognize quality workmanship, they are using their HVAC units to fool a lot of people. The Amish don’t use heating systems like ours. Instead, they use fireplaces or wood stoves like they would have done hundreds of years ago. I have nothing against these so-called Amish fireplaces, but let us at least be honest about where these heating systems came from.
