This month will be the last time that I ever allow my partner to try to service the central a/c instead of calling the HVAC serviceman.
My partner loves to believe that he can service anything, and usually, he can service most things.
However, I believe that this confidence has gone to his head. This week, when the central a/c stopped working randomly and separate from warning, my partner decided that he was going to service the a/c himself. I have seen my partner service a lot of things, even though I have never seen him service an HVAC unit. Usually, the people I was with and I consistently call the HVAC serviceman to have him sort through the mess, then when I told him that I didn’t believe that it was a nice idea, he got mad and stormed outside to take apart the a/c. When I didn’t see my partner for a few hours, I went outside to see how the a/c service was going; Apparently, at some point, he decided that he wasn’t able to service the a/c, and he tried to put it back together. However, he forgot to organize the pieces of the a/c, and in his frustration, he broke something pressing, now, I have to take tomorrow off of work to wait for the HVAC serviceman to come. The HVAC serviceman will have to sort through my partner’s mess, and I will suffer for it. It would have been so much easier if the people I was with and I would have just called the HVAC serviceman. Take my advice. Don’t make the same mistake that I did.
