Are boilers really that bad?

I seen something online that really freaked myself and others out about boilers! There was some news story about a hot water boiler that exploded and killed 3 people! Several others were hurt, this was a boiler at some large industrial building, i could not believe that a hot water boiler could be this dangerous! Was it some fluke or was it really saying something about the dangers of boilers in general? I had constantly avoided gas furnaces and gas heating systems because of the risk of carbon monoxide poisoning, but now with this story I seen about the hot water boiler exploding and killing people it really had myself and others thinking.

Is electric heating the only safe form of heating around? I could be getting over paranoid, however, when you think about it, the fact that there is even the slightest chance that nearly every form of heating could kill someone is disturbing.

It almost makes myself and others wonder if all of these tragic events coming from weird forms of heating that are being reported are getting all the news coverage to make the electric companies get more rich by promoting the use of electric heating. I know that sounds crazy, however it really does make myself and others wonder when I keep seeing things prefer this hot water boiler explosion and then all the deaths reported from gas heating of all kinds, someday they need to come up with a form of heating that will end up being 1 hundred percent safe with no risk what so ever, but maybe with all the advancements in heating and cooling system technology this will 1 day be absolutely possible.
