This year, I am going to go into debt for thousands of dollars because of the HVAC units in my house.
I knew this day was coming, but I was hoping to have a little more money saved up before the HVAC units in my house decided to stop working altogether. When I bought this house, I was very concerned about the HVAC units. I knew that I would have to replace them, but the heating system and the air conditioner slipped my mind with the excitement of moving into a new house. Now, I have been here for a few years, and the HVAC units are done. It started during the summer. We began noticing that the central air conditioner wasn’t going to work much longer. The fan in the air conditioner wasn’t blowing as hard, and the air from the air conditioner wasn’t getting very cold. We called an HVAC technician, and he told us that it wouldn’t be worth the money to have the air conditioner fixed. He recommended that we replace the air conditioner. We almost had enough money for that, but we decided to wait until the spring to have the air conditioner replaced. Apparently, that was a good decision. After a few weeks of colder temperatures during the winter, the furnace stopped working as well. We called the same HVAC technician, and he told us that the furnace would need to be replaced as well. Now, the money that I had put aside for the air conditioner would need to be used to replace the furnace immediately, and I would have to save up even more money for the air conditioner.
