I’m not a massive traveler, but I have been around the states a few times. Have you ever worked up the courage to go off and stay in a hostel? I promise that I didn’t spell that word wrong, either. A hostel is when you stay in a building that someone has turned into a hotel! Rather than getting your own tiny room to yourself, you end up sharing your larger room with a bunch of other people that have the same gender as you, generally. Sometimes, the experience can be great. However, sometimes, I find that it can be a nightmare. The last time that I shared a room in a hostel, all of a sudden the two of us were thrown into a large argument over the air conditioner in the room. There were several humans in the room, plus there was a large air conditioner in the window for us to keep us cool. Honestly, it would have been a lot nicer if there was only a central air conditioner that was set at a predetermined temperature somewhere off premise that the two of us couldn’t control. If that air conditioner would easily have made us all uncomfortable, the two of us could have just spent all night and complained about the owner of the hostel plus her temperature control setting. However, that wasn’t the case. Since the two of us had control over the temperature control, it rapidly turned into a large argument. There were a few of us that wanted to turn the air conditioner system on to the coldest setting, plus a few others didn’t want to use the air conditioner at all. There really was a lot of yelling, plus I was thankful in the end that it didn’t turn into a fight.
