My new home has been frustrating

I never wanted to complain about the thermostat settings, so I started purchasing box fans to sleep in the evening, then one day, I was bending down near the air vent when I observed something unusual just behind the metal grate

Just around a year ago when I first moved into our co-workers house, I unquestionably didn’t have any right to voice any complaints; I was just so pumped up to have a roof to sleep under, so I kept our mouth shut about every other detail. I assumed, if I was indoors and had a bed to sleep in, everything else was less important. I unquestionably didn’t mind the lack of space or the abundance of pet hair floating around in the air. I just felt so grateful, and didn’t say a word about the uncomfortable aspects of the current situation; However, as time wore on, I have been seeing a few things that have continued to annoy me, and first of all, I have wondered this entire time why our family room felt so boiling and humid, but at night, I had trouble sleeping and due to the heat and humidity in our space. The air vent was unblocked by furniture and I positioned the slats to be completely open. With that being said, it still seemed as if I had acquired a minimal a/c. I never wanted to complain about the thermostat settings, so I started purchasing box fans to sleep in the evening, then one day, I was bending down near the air vent when I observed something unusual just behind the metal grate. I got my hands on the screwdriver and finished making the cover off, and when I located my entire hand inside, I yanked it back in disgust with a scream. It was clear now why our room felt so boiling and stagnant every day; the air vent was really clogged with pet hair.
