It’s the dustiest apartment

I absolutely love my boyfriend.

We’ve been together for a few months now, and things seem to be getting better all the time.

We spend a great deal of time hanging out, and we try to alternate between staying at my house and his apartment. I think it’s clear from that statement that my house is the superior option. Not only is there more space, but we have a giant backyard, and live in a really great neighborhood. I enjoy being here more than going to his apartment, and I think that his dog feels the same way. On top of all of these added perks, there is also the underlying fact that my house is absolutely cleaner than his apartment ever is. He and his roommate are pigs. There are constantly dirty dishes in the sink, junk all over the living room surfaces, and recently I’ve noticed that he has the worst indoor air quality I’ve ever experienced. I don’t know how his tiny apartment could have such awful ventilation that the HVAC system can’t keep up with that tiny volume of indoor air. It seems like the air conditioner and furnace never create high-quality treated air. There are always uneven hot and cold temperatures throughout the apartment, the air feels stagnant, and I get the sensation that I’m breathing in contaminated air. Honestly, for the first few months I tried to convince myself that I was imagining the terrible air quality in the small and dark apartment. Now, I know that it’s real. I realized that he has the dustiest indoor air I have ever seen. Every fan, air vent, and window screen is covered in a thick layer of dust that seems to reappear within weeks of running the HVAC system. I don’t know if he needs a professional HVAC cleaning appointment, or if those boys need a deep cleaning themselves.
