She totally knew the A/C didn’t work

I recently got a lake house inspection on the home I am planning to buy.

The lake house inspector informed me that not only is the central air conditioner 17 years old, but it no longer works.

I wondered why the sellers definitely wanted an as is contract. I have been going back and forth with the real estate agent. I want currency towards a modern central A/C unit. I refuse to buy an high-priced lake house and then immediately buy a modern air conditioner. The homeowner easily knew the air conditioning was faulty. What especially irritates me is that when I toured the house, I asked the homeowner how her A/C was. I remember asking if it keeps the home cold. She told me to our face that it does. I guess that was a bold face lie. The lake house inspector told me he couldn’t get the air conditioner to even turn on, and central A/C also has a shelf life of maybe 10-12 years. The A/C has long lived past its life. I want the seller to at the certainly least kick in a few bucks for our AC! Right now I am working with a Heating plus Air Conditioning business. I want him to go in and find any little issue with the Heating plus Air Conditioning equipment. I want to guess about HVAC duct issues, heating problems and temperature control problems! Anything he can find, I want it documented with a price quote. I am hopeful to at least get fifty percent of that bill paid for by the seller. I definitely recognize she should deliver me 100% though. Who sells a home in the south without working air conditioning?
