It doesn’t take long to get to a certain point in your life when you realize that doctors and dentists offices are quite chilly. I learned this quite a while ago and I always come prepared with an extra layer of clothing to keep warm whenever I have an appointment. This has served me well for many years, until my latest doctor appointment that is. The last thing I expected when I came in from the hot parking lot was finding a doctor’s office that was nearly as hot! None of the staff nor the customers were particularly happy about it either. The air-conditioning mishap had happened just a few hours before, and while help was on the way, it wouldn’t arrive in time for me to get any benefit from it. The entire time I would wait and the entire time of my appointment would leave me hot and sweaty. I took off my sweater and sulked in the heat, just like everyone else. I heard that they kept doctor’s offices nice and cold to keep germs at bay. I made sure I wasn’t sitting near anyone that was particularly sick-looking, without appearing to be rude of course. On top of everything, the doctor kept me waiting longer than he ever has for my appointment! I was literally quite hot and bothered by the time I was able to see him. I willed the check up to hurry up and get finished with so that I could retreat to the comfort of my air-conditioned car. I saw the HVAC van pull up as I was leaving!
