We recently completely replaced the heating system at my workplace. The building is rather old and it was still using an oil furnace that was a few decades old! I don’t know why my boss thought that he wouldn’t have to immediately replace the furnace once we bought the building. I guess he tried to squeeze the last bits of life out of it, but when it became apparent that that was pointless, we finally got a replacement that was a much newer and better model. It’s a gas furnace that does a pretty great job of keeping us nice and toasty throughout the work day. Before we got the replacement furnace, we were forced to come into work prepared for some cold temperatures! Many of us barely shed any of the winter clothing that we used outside that morning! Some of my coworkers complained that we may as well have been working out in the street in the snow. I personally don’t think it was that cold, but it was still pretty frosty. The building had pretty decent insulation, and still does, which is why things were not as bad as they could have been while we were waiting for the better furnace. It was so nice and evenly toasty, we really didn’t need any other extra layers of clothing to stay warm. Then our boss decided to be a little more conservative with the temperature settings and that didn’t go over well!
