Now that I have gotten older, I use words and phrases that make me think I have become my mother.
My daughters roll their eyes and laugh at me whenever I come out with some off the wall comment.
The other day, I was looking for the number for the HVAC service business. With winter almost over, I wanted to prepare my A/C equipment before I needed it. I went through all of my business cards, hoping to find the right number. My daughter asked what I was looking for so I told her. I explained that I wanted to have the servicing of the A/C equipment completed. She then reminded me she had put the number into my contact list on my cell phone. I suppose I had dismissed this information, since I couldn’t see the print on the phone. I asked if she could find the HVAC service company in the contact list and dial the number for me. She looked at me oddly. I had to change my wording to something she actually understood. I said that I would like her to get the number for the HVAC service company and please make the call. She laughed and admitted she knew what I meant… It was that I was still thinking about dialing instead of just tapping the keys that had her laughing. I didn’t care how the HVAC service company was called, I just wanted them called and to have my A/C equipment serviced. Five minutes later, she made the call, and I got the appointment set for three weeks later.
