I guess he couldn’t hear me trying to reach him
My uncle is very elderly and we try to watch out for him. That is why, when he didn’t answer his phone on Saturday night, I got concerned. When Sunday morning rolled around and he still wasn’t answering his phone I made the drive over to his house and knocked on the door. No answer. I then rang the bell repeatedly and still got no answer. His truck was in the driveway so I got very concerned at this point and I used the hidden key to open the door. The first thing I noticed was that it was freezing cold in my uncle’s house. I mean it was below 60 degrees and the air conditioner was still blasting away. I thought maybe my uncle had been murdered and someone had tried to hide the evidence by turning the house into a refrigerator by using the air conditioner. That is not an exaggeration. That is what I actually thought. I started looking through the house, one air conditioned room after the other, and couldn’t find my uncle. Finally, I found him in the least likely place. He was sleeping in the closet. Again, I thought the worse until he moved. Then he explained why he was sleeping there. He said the air conditioner got stuck on Saturday morning and it wouldn’t turn off. By night time he was too cold to sleep so he went into the closet, which wasn’t air conditioned, and slept there. I guess he couldn’t hear me trying to reach him. I’m glad he’s ok. I called an air conditioner repair company to fix the air conditioner as well.
