Our candle store burnt down.

Our candle store burnt down because of a faulty gas furnace.

It all began one evening when I was in my candle shop making candles.

I had had the central air conditioner running because it usually gets pretty hot in the shop, but on this night I got really cold, so I went to my smart thermostat and turned off the central air conditioner and then proceeded to turn on the gas furnace. The furnace made some strange sounds, almost like a small gust of flames, then kicked on. I figured this wasn’t a huge problem since gas furnaces run on gas which makes a flame. As I continued to work that night, I started to smell a gas leak from the gas furnace. I grew concerned and decided to turn off the gas furnace and to go home for the evening. Little did I know that there was a gas leak in my gas furnace, and it was filling my shop with gas fumes. Unfortunately, I had left a small candle burning, and when the fumes from my gas furnace got near the candle, it burst into flames and caught stuff on fire! I got a call from the fire department saying that my gas furnace had started a fire in my shop. The next day I called the heating and cooling business and demanded that they pay for the damage done and to also fix the leak in my gas furnace. The heating and cooling company apologized for the leak and sent an HVAC technician to fix the gas furnace.
