Everytime I walk into my grandparents house, I can’t help but to stop and look at the pictures that sit on the wall.
I Always can’t help but to stop and smile when I look at the one picture that hangs just above the sofa.
It is an image of my grandad standing there with a big grin, and one hand placed upon a HVAC unit. In the picture he is showing it off, it was the first heating and cooling unit that he built all by himself, and he always was so proud of that HVAC unit, he had it until the day he passed 20 years ago. My grandad was a proud HVAC technician, he loved his job and never missed a day of work. Many people didn’t understand it, and some thought it was pretty odd that he didn’t want a vacation. But that was just the type of guy he was. He didn’t need a vacation, his work was his fun. He loved it so much that, even when he wasn’t working at the heating and cooling business, he would use his weekends to help other people with their air conditioners and heating systems. He became known for it around the neighborhood and everyone knew him. He is a big reason why I became the heating and cooling technician that I am today. He truly inspired me with kindness and his knowledge. He made me want to work hard, to become as good as he was. I studied and studied in college so that I could pass my certifications and he helped me by mentoring me, and taking me on his runs with him. The day I graduated and got a job working at the heating and cooling company I had wanted will always be one of my proudest moments.
