I know that newspapers are slowly becoming a thing of the past, but I have to say that I still enjoy the smell and the feel of good old fashioned newsprint in my hands from time to time.
Today, on a whim, I picked up a newspaper when I went out to get coffee and it just happened to have an ad in it that was exactly what I needed to see today! See, I have an oil furnace in my house and it’s really way past time when I need to have the furnace serviced and maintained.
Winter weather is quickly approaching and it gets really cold around here during the winter. I saw that there was a local, family owned heating and cooling company that was running an ad in the paper for their heating preventative maintenance special. That really caught my eye because it was something I’d been looking for myself for my oil furnace. Well, this HVAC company was offering to clean the burners and pilot light, check the gas valve, check the heat exchanger and the furnace controls, and adjust the burner, pilot, and blower belt all for $67. Plus, I would be getting another ten percent off of that special price as a senior citizen. I thought that sounded like a great deal and so after I finished up with my coffee, I called them up and made an appointment to have them come and do the service work on my gas furnace. I guess you just never know what you’re going to find in the newspaper.
