I like where I live. It may have to do with the fact that I truly don’t know much different. I mean sure, I have visited other parts of the country. But never felt any sort of compunction to live anywhere else than where I was born and raised. Some might find that curious given how deeply extreme the winters can be. Again, it’s what I know but thanks to Heating and A/C it’s manageable. Tough winters have been area of my life since my entirely first memory. My dad’s new home was consistently warm from fantastic Heating and A/C but it didn’t come separate from some effort and preparation. By the time I could walk, I was following him around and doing what he did. So I l acquired early just how to prepare for and manage a Wintertide that goes numerous weeks or more. It carried over to my adult life as well. Once I had my own house, I didn’t rely solely on the oil furnace. While I consistently go with the professionals from the local Heating and A/C locale when it comes to Heating and A/C maintenance, I have also worked on a plan B as well. We’ve consistently had a wood stove as well. The Summer is spent making sure that I have enough firewood cut for the coming winter. The fall is for cutting and stacking that firewood. But area of my Wintertide preparations now includes looking after the air conditioner. When the kids were gone, every one of us moved to a smaller locale and my partner wanted air conditioner for the summer. I don’t truly see much need for it but it makes her glad so it was something that I was glad to make happen. However, I now have to be sure it’s covered with a strenuous plastic cover to protect it during the winter.
