I hate winter with a passion.
I was raised in the South and don’t mind heat and humidity, but going to see friends and in laws in the northern states is never a good time! Once you get entirely cold, you’re just cold. It completely gets into your bones. It makes your muscles especially tight. It numbs your fingers, your toes, your nose. You must order two soups at diners, a single one to eat and a single one to soak your frozen feet in. Being chilly is easily the worst, but at least when I’m sizzling I can have a chilly glass of sweet tea. I can relax in the pool or go to the beach. Or I can sit in a nice air conditioned place, and relax right under an air return and cool off in a short period of time. If I’m cold? How do you get warm quickly? You can go rest in a sizzling room, turn the heating equipment or radiator up all the way, get under a blanket and then rest right on top of the heating vents. After a while, cuddling up next to heating equipment, you’ll feel fine. When it gets extremely chilly outside, I turn the heat up in our property all the way up and don’t go outside. The Heating, Ventilation, and A/C equipment gets going and pumps sizzling air into each room in the property. If the heating equipment actually breaks, I have a repair professional on speed dial. If the property has a radiator, it’s all the way open. The only fine thing about being a bit chilly, actually, is walking into a room where the heating equipment has already made everything warm. A room with an officially working radiator or Heating, Ventilation, and A/C in the cold season is basically like walking into a sizzling blanket, which is the only way to get through winter. Wrapped in a sizzling blanket, kind of like a walking burrito.
