It was a mistake to take the kids to the beach

My wife and I wanted to get away, so we decided to make reservations at the beach.

The kids were young, but at 7 and 10 years old, we felt the beach would be an appropriate vacation destination.

My wife and I made a long list of items necessary for the trip. We took plenty of sunscreen, bug spray, and allergy medication. My wife suffers from terrible allergies, and we assumed the beach would cause them to act up. We packed plenty of activities for the children, like video games, DVDs, and coloring books. We drove 4 hours to our destination, but the car worked well and we got great gas mileage. By the time we arrived, the kids were ready for bed. Everyone was tuckered out, and we slept very well on the first night. When we woke up in the morning, we headed right down to the beach. Clearwater Beach was absolutely magnificent. The water was blue and clear, and we could see shells, starfish, and even jellyfish. Even though it was the middle of the week, Clearwater Beach was still packed with people. My wife and I didn’t want to let the kids out of our sight, and we were constantly worried. Clearwater Beach was a beautiful vacation destination, but we would have had much more fun without two small children in tow. My wife and I would love to visit Clearwater Beach without the kids, when we can soak up the rays and relax in the sunshine. Unfortunately, it was a mistake to take two small children to a crowded Clearwater Beach.
