I bought myself a smart control unit & that was 1 of the dumbest purchases I ever made.
It is not the fault of the control unit, it is our internet.
The control unit runs on Wi-Fi. You download the app & run the control unit from your PC, laptop or tablet with Wi-Fi fastenion. The control unit then can do all sorts of amazing things. It learns a bi-weekly heating & air program. Set the control unit by making adjustments as you go. The control unit learns what time, day & temperature you like. It even will scan when you are there & turn on or do the opposite when you leave. The best function is that the control unit can be run from anywhere with Wi-Fi. So while I am at work, in the car or on trip, I can alter the heating & cooling settings. I never have to come lake house to a frigid house. That is all the relaxing things I should get with our smart control unit. Well, I do end up coming lake house to a hot or frigid house. The reason is that our internet is spotty at best. So the control unit then is not fastened to Wi-Fi & therefore not running. It forgets our bi-weekly Heating as well as A/C program & hardly alerts myself and others about inferior temperatures. Basically I can use our control unit when I am at work. The employer Wi-Fi is way more reliable. I can set the temperature & hope it does not get messed up when I get home. On the weekends I just manually adjust it like it is a normal dial control unit.
