My mom was really glad to be able to move a whole lot closer to her grandbabies.
She has been talking about moving near us ever since our oldest was recently born.
That was years ago. I never thought she would absolutely do it though. But, she did. I clearly helped her find a lake house once it was apparent she was absolutely going to make the move this time. I found a nice little lake house which was only a mile from our house. The only thing I didn’t like was the heating system. It has an extremely aged hydronic heating system with radiant heat. I remember our aged high university actually had those types of heaters. There were radiators in every class room and they got really hot and burned us. As our mom is getting older I felt that that sort of heat might be dangerous for her. What if she somehow accidentally left a book on 1 of the radiators? So I was about to disregard that apartment until I later found out that you can use the hydronic heating system to heat radiant heated floors instead of utilizing radiators. It is still radiant heat but it is much safer. I talked to our mom about all of this and she suddenly was completely on board. She enjoys the little lake house but she hates the flooring anyway. I got in touch with a boiler company and they came out and installed the heated flooring for her, and my mom moves in in a month and the family of us are all easily excited for the move.
