Mistake with the mini split

For years I have wanted a ductless mini split in my kitchen. They say you can connect multiple indoor air handlers to one outdoor unit. I wanted to have a unit in the kitchen and in my upstairs bedroom. I could have quality heating and cooling all year around. In my bedroom it would be nice to have a powerful AC since I am going through menopause. In the kitchen I wanted good heating since the winters get so cold. I used to own a ventless heater and it was terrible. It would frequently clog up with dust and require me to use an air compressor to blow it out. I also felt like that little machine was going to light the house on fire. I also felt the ventless heater was blowing out more cold air than warm. The mini split was supposed to solve all my troubles. I did most things right. I bought a brand new ductless mini split and I found a HVAC contractor willing to install it. The guy didn’t want to go through his HVAC company though. He said if I hired him on the side, he would give me a deal. That should have been a red flag. Well I did it and the guy installed it in the wrong spot and it doesn’t work! I know it was his fault. Suddenly I can’t get a hold of this guy and the HVAC company he works for fired him months ago. Now what do I do? I spent thousands on a system that doesn’t work.
