I used to work in a building that had numerous different departments. I worked in an area where we handled classified work that we were not permitted to talk about. Well, even though the pay was good, the work environment was not very comfortable. The place was completely stuffy, the temperature control settings were lousy, and the job started to feel miserable to me. I became sick of going back to the workplace, quite literally sick. I would hack up a lung most of the time and I could see all the dust floating around in the air. I don’t even think the people there were vacuuming in the work environment, it was so bad. I asked the management if they were ever planning on improving the air quality with an air purification system or something, and they said that probably would never happen. I had a few buddies move to another department in the building. They told me that I had to come along with them because it was the difference between night and day. They said there was more respectable work and the climate control system was amazing. I was surprised at that, seeing as we were in the same building with such different levels of comfort. I ended up making the transfer to the department and it was like a party atmosphere. Everybody seemed to be happy instead of miserable like in my previous work space and I could see why. The air quality was amazing and I learned it was because they had a UV air purification system working, something the former management said would never happen in their department.
