Several years ago, I worked for the local police department; I was in charge of special projects and events, however the two of us were arranging all of the security for a 15K race and I was looking for a portable building to serve as command central.

I found numerous arenas that rented portable buildings, but numerous of them did not offer personal delivery. I needed someone to give the portable buildings to the headquarters for the race. I found a supplier that was willing to give the building for a small fee. I did not mind paying the fee at all, however once the portable building was delivered, all of us set up the rest of the race. On the day of the race, The event coordinator sat in the command central building so she could watch every leg of the race, then cameras were set up on the corner of every street so she could watch all of the runners and make sure that no a single was splitting corners.The command post worked out really well and the small portable building was a warm and cozy arena for the event coordinator to set. It was uncommonly chilly that day with a light rain and lots of fun. The two of us had more than 200 contestants that day, even though the weather was less than ideal. The 15k race was a immense success. It is now a yearly race that raises thoUnited Statesnds of dollars for local charities.
