The summer was particularly scorching, and the office felt like an oven on this particular day.
The boss had enough and stormed out of the office, telling no one in particular that if none of us investigated what was wrong with the central oil furnace, someone would lose their job. Everyone was in a flurry. As the only intern, I was picked to ensure that everything was in order before the boss came the next day. I immediately called the local repair service to find a heating business that could repair the electric heating system! Every heating specialist I called seemed to be on a house call, attending to a whole-home heating system! Just as I was about to give up hope, I received a call from a heating company who said he would be at the office in an hour. I was so relieved. He was unquestionably punctual, and after inspecting the electric heat pump, it was discovered that the component required a heating system oil furnace repair. The office was back into bearable conditions after some time had passed. Following the events of the day, I called the same serviceman to arrange a heating system/heater tune-up for the component at home. I had radiant floor heating, which I properly switched off from the main system’s computerized temperature control during such warmer times of the year. The zone control method also made it easy to set up and regulate the heating and cooling system in the house in terms of temperature control.
