Our furnace seems that it’s on its last legs.
- At this point, all I can think of is that at least it waited until almost spring to die on us.
We had a really long, cold winter this year and I was beginning to think that the weather was never going to start heating up. We used our oil furnace so much this past winter that I can’t believe we managed not to run out of oil during all of those cold months. It was one of those winters that we thought was never going to end. We spent a lot of time sitting by the wood burning fireplace in our living room, just because it was nice and cozy in there. Our oil heater works very well most of the time, but sometimes you just need a little extra coziness to get through those long cold winter nights. Anyway, our oil furnace was getting old and we knew that we were going to have to probably replace it soon. But of course we were hoping that it would last us through one more winter, and it did. I’m actually pretty impressed that it ended up lasting through that whole long winter because we used it more consistently than we have ever used a furnace in the past. I actually feel like the heating system ran almost constantly all through the winter. Now that the weather is finally heating up, the furnace finally stopped working. It’s almost as if the furnace was hanging around just long enough for us to make it through the winter!
