Metabolism slows with age

I can’t seem to get rid of it

During my twenties, it was not difficult to keep in shape. I didn’t need to pay all that much attention to the amount or what kinds of food I ate. I exercised for around 30 minutes for 5 days per week. Once I was in my thirties, I noticed a change in my body. I switched to being a vegetarian, began counting my calorie intake and upped my workout sessions to 45 minutes 6 days per week. I saw that I was putting on weight when I got into my forties. I elevated the intensity of my training session and made certain to workout for an hour every day. I am now in my mid fifties. I am struggling to maintain my ideal weight. I have made a big change in how much and what I eat. I now eat a banana or an apple for breakfast. I have carrots and yogurt for lunch. I gave up snacking and avoid sweets. For dinner, I often have a salad with hardly any dressing. My workouts are now especially intense. I devote a minimum of 30 to 45 minutes of high intensity cardio. I sometimes go for a run, ride my bike or use my mini trampoline. A favorite cardio exercise is jumping rope. I’ve invested into an incline bench to concentrate more on my abs. I also lift hand weights up to 8 pounds. For my legs, I complete a variety of lunges, squats, jumps, mountain climbers and burpees. I am always dripping sweat and out of breath at the conclusion of every workout. I frequently challenge my muscles to the point that I end up feeling stiff and sore for the whole day. Despite the increase in my efforts, I am stuck with extra weight in my belly region. I can’t seem to get rid of it. I understand that my metabolism has slowed with age, but the extra weight is unacceptable.
