I really love my job working at the career center here in town.
I have been here for the past five years now, and I have to say that it’s really one of the most rewarding positions that I have ever had.
I love seeing kids come in from all over the place to learn a trade and figure out what they want to do with their lives. A lot of times, young people will come in without having a clue what they want to do as a career. Then, within just a few short weeks they will be able to figure it out by trying some different classes here at the career center. I like it whenever they choose the classes that seem to call to them like a plumbing class, an electrical class, or a heating and cooling class. Lately, I have been noticing that the heating and cooling classes are becoming very popular for some reason. I don’t know if it’s because the job market for HVAC technicians in our area is very good right now or what. Whatever the reason, we have had to expand the heating and cooling class offerings because we just have too many students on a waitlist for the classes. Of course, we want to be able to give the students the skills for the classes and careers that they really want, so we try to build the class schedule around that. Right now, I think we are actually going to have to double the HVAC classes that we are going to be offering next fall when school starts back. There’s just too much of a demand for them for us to do otherwise.
