Last year when my husband had to move for his job, we ended up having to buy a house without even seeing it first.
I know that this sounds completely crazy, but believe it or not, people actually do this all the time.
We ended up finding a realtor who actually specializes in this sort of move and she was fantastic. She was able to sit down with us and find out exactly what we needed as far as specifications go. We wanted a place with four bedrooms, three bathrooms, a gas log fireplace, a high efficiency air conditioning system, and some sort of great heating system. I wasn’t really sure what kind of heating system we needed, but I had been reading a lot about radiant heated flooring and I was pretty sure that it was something that I was interested in having in our new house. After I told her all of these things, she worked her magic and found a couple of houses for us to look at virtually. One of them looked great to me and the only thing that was wrong with it was the fact that it didn’t have a gas log fireplace in it. The main things were all there, though. It has a brand new high efficiency air conditioning system and radiant heated flooring throughout the entire house. I was pretty excited when I saw the huge bedrooms and walk-in closets, too. We purchased the house and I realized that even though it didn’t have a gas log fireplace, it was still the perfect house for us.
