Jump rope app

I am required to do exercises that I wouldn’t normally do

I jump rope as part of my fitness regimen nearly every day. It’s not only fun but challenging. The activity burns a tremendous amount of calories in a short amount of time, involves the whole body and requires skill and stamina. I have invested into a specialized rubber mat that cushions my joints and won’t slide or curl up. I use four different weights of jump ropes and get a different type of benefit from each one. I have a jump rope app on my phone that is a great way to push myself and ensure a rewarding workout. The app tracks my training sessions so that I know how many calories I’ve burned and the amount of time I’ve devoted over the last week, month, year or all-time. The app provides a selection of guided training sessions. Some are geared toward endurance while others focus on calorie burn or strength-gain. The sessions vary from beginner to immediate or advanced and can be anywhere from 10 minutes to 60 minutes long. Once I choose a workout, a voice on my phone guides me through each stage of the session. There is a warm up period and timed intervals of jumping alternated by resting. Some of the workouts are strictly jumping while others include lunges, crunches, push-ups and burpees. They incorporate all different styles of jumps, such as boxer step, high-knees, crossovers, double-unders and one-footed. Having a guided workout doesn’t allow me to be lazy. It forces me to workout longer and harder than I would on my own. I am required to do exercises that I wouldn’t normally do. I always feel very good about the accomplishment.
