I saw the leak under the kitchen sink

I keep all of my plastic bowls and lids under the sink in the cabinet.

Once a year I go through the containers and throw away everything that is broken or missing a lid. Last month I spent two hours getting rid of everything in the bottom of the cupboard. I didn’t plan on getting rid of everything, but I found a major leak under the sink and everything was wet and moldy. I didn’t want to wash everything, so I decided to simply throw away all of the items. After I cleaned the area, I turned off the water so I could attempt to find the plumbing leak. I checked all of the pipes that lead from the sink to the floor. I found several wet areas on the pipes, but I couldn’t pinpoint the place where the leak was actually coming from. I turned on the water in the sink and a couple of different places started leaking. That’s when I realized that their job was too big for me to handle on my own. I put everything back under the sink and I contacted a plumbing contractor. I have a preferred plumbing contractor that I have used in the past. I contacted the company and I told the lady on the phone about the problem with my sink. She helped me make an appointment for the following morning. A plumbing contractor came to the house around 9 am. He turned off all of the water to the house and took the entire sink and plumbing completely apart. He replaced all of the pipes with brand new PVC. The repair was on the expensive side, but I won’t ever have to worry about replacing those pipes again.
