My wife and I went to the fair a couple of months ago.
It was a very breezy day and the sun was shining.
It was the perfect day for an outdoor event. My wife and I had not planned to go to the fair that year, but the weather on that day and our lack of other plans brought us to the fair. My wife and I enjoyed some of our favorite fair foods like hot dogs, popcorn, caramel apples, and funnel cakes. We played a couple of games and even won a large stuffed animal that looked like a moose. While we were there, my wife filled out an entry form to win a weekend stay at a vacation house on the beach. The vacation house was a place set up by an energy management service. The energy management service advertised the vacation house as a Smart House. The smart house includes integrated temperature controls for the heat and the air conditioning system, lighting controls, security features, and voice-activated system control. The smart house is supposed to make people want to contact the company to set up an appointment for an energy management system in their home. I thought it was a gimmick and I did not want my wife to fill out an entry form. I thought they would call our house every day for months. When the company contacted my wife, I didn’t expect she was going to be the winner. I was quite surprised when I found out that we were the winners of the weekend stay at the vacation beach house.
