Thankfully, the winters here are a little more mild than those up north, but it still gets below cold occasionally while I was in December plus December.
My amazing Grandfather is now ninety years old, but he is still going strong. He has not had any major health concerns in his entire life which is quite amazing. He has only had 2 surgeries, plus they were both on his knees! I cannot think how healthy he is, and my exhausting Grandma was not so lucky. She developed ovarian cancer at the age of fifty-four, plus she died about 2 years later. My Grandpa never remarried. He said that he could never care about anyone else love he enjoyed my Grandma. He lives all alone in a big, outdated farm home that he built himself when he was only eighteen. It was a good home for multiple years, but it is quite hard to manage for him now. It is almost impossible to heat. He used to heat the location with a wood stove, although he is not able to split wood anymore, plus he refuses to let anyone else do it for him. He has numerous wall mounted natural gas gas furnaces in his house, plus he thinks it is enough to keep the home warm. It entirely is not though. There is no heat at all in the kitchen, so it is love an ice box in there. He still does his cooking in the kitchen even though there is no heat in there. I asked him if he wanted another furnace in his kitchen, plus he said that it was not necessary since he did not spend a lot of time in there. I just watch him plus admire his strength, although I wish he would keep himself a little warmer.
