New town, new commitment to health and wellness

It took me about 6 years working for the company straight out of college before I got my first break.

Actually, it was so much a break as it was an opportunity that I worked and sacrificed to be in position for. I got a promotion that put me in a management role but in another regional office. I had to move and that was a bit traumatic for me. Being comfortable where I was meant starting over somewhere else was going to be tough. But thanks to the health and fitness center, I am thriving in my new town and my new position. When I first started my new job, I had to go through the obligatory HR induction with several other people even though I already worked for the company. Yet, it was a good thing because I finally got the details on the corporate wellness program the company offered. I had heard about it before but really never took the time to find out all about it. Before I moved, between work, friends and family, I was not all that interested in carving out more time for trips to the gym. But it really seemed like a great idea to commit to health and wellness now that I was in a new place. It gave me a comfort zone outside of work and I certainly needed the focus on my health and fitness. I’m in love with the yoga classes and I have a personal trainer who helps me with my workout programs. I have to say that my commitment to health and fitness is also benefiting my new position as I have so much more energy to tackle challenges.
