There’s working out and then there is health and wellness

All I knew before going to the body wellness center was you went to the gym for an iron pumping workout.

That’s how you did it and that’s all there was to it.

Of course, that was also in the mid 80’s. These days, I’ve seen that just like everything else, gyms have evolved. The time when you walked into gym to hear muscle heads clanking iron and grunting seems to have passed. I’m sure that are old school gyms where that’s the norm. But I think that is more a classic example than what health and fitness really is all about these days. I’m sure glad I was able to shed my misconceptions when it came time for me to actually get serious about my own health and wellness. I’m in my fifties and the time to get with it pretty much upon me. It’s not like I totally let myself go by being a big fat guy leading a sedentary life. I played golf and my wife pretty much made me eat right. But the older I got, the more it was evident that to maximize the life I have left, I’d needed to get to the health and fitness center. Actually, my wife already had a gym membership to the health and fitness center. So I joined her as a guest a few times. This was so I could sort of scope it out and talk with the certified fitness experts about my health and wellness goals. Still, I was stunned by the place and the fact that they had so much to offer. That health and fitness center even has an inhouse yoga studio.
