I think one of the things that was strangely missed during the pandemic in my case was the HVAC in the office.
I’d only been in this office for about a year before the pandemic started. And it was sort of the crowning glory of my career thus far. I took a lot of tough assignments and challenges to finally earn a spot inside the corporate office. That was the plan all along. Being inside the corporate offices is where you want to be in this company. Working here actually shapes policy and that’s what I want to do. The fact that I’ve had to move to the land of the heat pump was but a small price to pay when it comes to being able to work inside that building. And man, it’s nice. I love my office which is on the 26th floor and has floor to ceiling windows that provide a magical view. But again, all the amenities and views pale in comparison to the heating and cooling in this building. There is state of the art commercial HVAC to start. But the thing that I really love is the zone controlled HVAC. There are thermostats throughout the office. I have one just outside my door that keeps my office perfectly controlled when it comes to perfect heating and cooling. So going home to work for a year was such a drag that I called the HVAC company. And I had them tweak my residential HVAC so I now have zone controlled HVAC in the house. I have to say that I love the quality heating and air in my home even more.
