We ended up learning more about HVAC while playing charades

I came home last Friday night to find my husband and the kids playing indoor games. We started this tradition about two years back when we could not leave the house because of bad weather. The kids were little then; we would build fortresses with them and play hide and seek, among other games. I work as a local contractor installing geo heat pumps and providing customers with heater maintenance. My husband also works in the local business industry as a finance officer. We both enjoy our jobs and try to educate our children on what we do. Our firstborn daughter says she wants to be a heating technician. When I walked in, they were playing charades. My daughter had chosen the topic so they could learn more about HVAC or, rather, so it was easier for her to answer as she knew a lot about it and more about heating. The card she was holding when I walked in had the words space heating, and we had to mime her what it was. We had just bought it for her because she complained she was not getting quality heating even when she readjusted the temperature from the central heating using the digital thermostat. She finally got it correct. The final word was difficult to explain as it was energy-saving help. We tried different mimes and actions, but she could not get them. When the game was over, I had a moment to look at my family and was proud. I had been in the heating service for a decade and provided new heating and heating devices to millions of homes, but my family was still my priority.
