Lack of Sealing Leads to Drafty Kitchen:

My brother designed a home last fall, and he’s been working with a corporation for the past couple of years to draft the blueprints of his dream home. He was finally able to move in this month. My brother was gleeful to move in because it felt like he’d been dreaming about this house forever. Once he moved in, he knew that there was something wrong. Things were a little draftier than he wanted it to be since he spent so long designing the house. He didn’t understand why there was one room that was much chillier than the rest of his house! His kitchen felt like it was consistently losing heat even when his heating system was turned on and running! My brother spoke with the corporation he was working with and they told him that if the workers didn’t seal the kitchen door as well as the windows correctly, then it would be drafty. They came back to look at his kitchen plus figure out what was wrong. However, thankfully, they were able to repair the issue rather quickly. He was ecstatic about this because he knew if he kept blasting the heating system, that his electric bill would go up. After the corporation fixed his issue, he was able to keep the thermostat on a normal temperature without being concerned about heat escaping from the kitchen. My brother is glad that it wasn’t an issue with his Heating, Ventilation, as well as A/C idea because that would have been much more costly to fix than this.
